Cool Cruisin' for Santa Claus
by Walt Cheatham, Senior Elf

OYC deposited Santa in Occoquan on Nov 27th after proper OYC festivities on the OHM docks. The weather was wonderfully clear and in the 60s, and a great group turned out to enjoy goodies and liquid cheer on the docks. Seven yet-to-be-winterized boats--Lovin Life! sporting a likeness of Santa himself on water skis being pulled by a reindeer--assembled to accompany Abominable Snowman III who had the honors of carrying our Santa (Bob Harvey of Occoquan who I'm sure is kin to my grandmother Harvey of Brookneal, Va).

Boats accompanying Mary Lynn and Randy included: Gary and Nicky Linck on Lovin Life!, Mike and Janine Fordham on Kitt II, Tom and Mary Ann Coldwell on Shalimar, Scott and Ann Shipley on Dream Catcher, Jim and Peggy Ball (and Jim's daughter Beth and husband Dennis, and granddaughter Caroline) on Cheers II, Tobin and Joanne Jarmin of PWYC on Moon River, and Mel and Karen Ray on Friendship III.

The kids on the bank followed Santa to the Town Hall to start their holiday season as we boaters returned to our respective marinas feeling we had started ours.
