OYC Dinghy Regatta 2000
August 19, 2000, Occoquan Harbor Marina

What a perfect day for a Dinghy Regatta! Thank you Scott Shipley, OYC's unofficial meteorologist, wherever you are! Saturday was a sunny-blue-sky-breezy-cool day, the kind of day you'd expect in May or June, definitely not mid-August weather!

OYCers picnicked and played all afternoon, thanks to Ned's grilling skills and those who generously brought side dishes to share. The dinghy races were great fun, with the rowers rowing blindfolded, and the coxswains doing their best to guide them from the launch and back. As a first-time participant in this event, I can tell you it's not as easy as you'd think! Great job, teams!

Here are some pictures from the day, and please send more if you have them, to Liz(zie Bitz) and we'll post them.
